Day two of ‘Net Zero Week 2024’ and there’s been some interesting conversations about the scale, number, investment (to date / future requirements), impact & benefits for national & pan-European projects.
What do you mean: “What’s Net Zero week 2024?”
It’s only the official national awareness week on how the UK intends to reach net zero by 2050. Meaning that, as per the House of Commons Library page:
“…the total greenhouse gas emissions would be equal to the emissions removed from the atmosphere, with the aim of limiting global warming and resultant climate change“.
I’ll also quote the UK Infrastructure and Projects Authority Project Futures Team who wrote, in 2023:
“Net Zero Week is a reminder of the collective responsibility we all hold in achieving our commitments to tackle the climate and nature emergency“.
So we’re up to speed then? Cool.
What does this all mean to me, other than impacting the region, country & world where I live (and keep all of my stuff)?
Well, it’s evident to me that there’s going to be increasing demand by national, pan-European & global supply chains for access to trusted data & information however it is gathered, processed, analysed, stored & transmitted.
Never forget: your data & information are valuable… and so are those with whomever you are working with, for or supplying.
Whether commercial or in the form of any personal identifiable information about your stakeholders or those of your business and supply chain partners you must be taking steps to treat these with the respect they deserve.
